Art Inspired by Poetry!

The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center is excited to announce an evening of "Art Inspired by Poetry" during its latest exhibit on October 1st, 2025!

I will be moderating a panel of distinguished poets and artists from 2pm to 4pm on October 1st at the Gallery. Dr. Sofia M. Starnes, Virginia Poet Laureate Emerita, Terry Cox-Joseph, Past President of the Poetry Society of Virginia, Bill Glose, Past President Pro Tem and award-winning author and poet, and myself, current President of the Poetry Society of Virginia, will comment on how poetry can inspire artists. Terry has both poetry and art in the exhibit, as do I. Bill has a poem which inspired Tenley Raithel, one of the artists, in the exhibit. Following our panel, several more WCAC artists/poets will speak about their work and inspiration. It promises to be an exciting evening! My two fiber artworks are below-one poem is beside it (left), the other poem is embroidered on the quilt, which several artists elected to do.
